Girl Scouts

GIRL SCOUTS NATURE PROGRAMS

Our environmental education team has partnered with the Girl Scouts of America to provide rainforest, ecology and conservation programs for your Girl Scouts.

JUNGLE TALES
2nd Tuesday of each month     Ages: 2-5 (with adult)     Time: 10-11am      Fee: $4 per session

This popular preschool program focuses on the rain forest and our local environment. Join us each month for a different nature-related story, activity, and craft. In December, we will have Train Tales as we enjoy the holiday show. This program fills up fast and pre-registration is required.

GUIDED CONSERVATORY TOURS

Join Master Gardeners as they conduct tours highlighting information about the interesting and unusual plants in the Conservatory.   Tours begin at 2:30pm every Saturday in June, July, and August, and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month from September through May.

Novemember & December

Conservatory Crossing
Dates: November 28-December 31        Hours: Mon-Sat: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sun 1-5 p.m.      
Admission: $3 per person or $8 per family (2 adults max.)
Come enjoy our annual winter wonderland! See the Conservatory decked out in its holiday best with a brilliant display of poinsettias and enjoy running model trains, a train village and thousands of twinkling lights. This display is done in partnership with The Indiana Rail Road Company.

Christmas at Garfield
Date: Saturday, December 13        Hours: 10 a.m.-1p.m.      Free
Visit the Conservatory to meet Santa and see Conservatory Crossing, the holiday train and poinsettia show. You can also visit the Arts Center to make toys with Santa’s elves and head to the Burrello Family Center for more festive fun. All activities are free. Bring your own camera to take photos with Santa.

Family Fish Day
Date: Saturday, January 24      Time: 1:30-2:30 p.m.      Fee: $4 per child        Ages: 3-10
This is your chance to feed the fish in the Conservatory! We’ll also do a fishy craft and practice our “fishing” skills. Registration required.

Furry Friends
Date: Wednesday, January 28        Time: 10-11 a.m.        Fee: $4 per child        Ages: 2-5
Ever wonder what our furry friends do when it’s cold out? Bring the little ones to find out with a story, craft and fun. Registration required.

Dancing Waters
Dates: January 31-February 15        Hours: Mon-Sat: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sun 1-5 p.m.      
Admission: $3 per person or $8 per family (2 adults max.)
Enjoy the tropical Conservatory this winter and see a fountain show like you’ve never seen. Each unique piece of art is made of repurposed items and constructed by Dennis and Daniel Baar of Two of a Kind Studio.

Early Morning Meditation
Date: Saturday, February 7        Time: 8:30-9:30 a.m.        Fee: $5 per person
Join us for a tranquil morning in the tropical Conservatory. Program will begin with an instructor-led meditation and breathing exercise and end with free quite time for finding restorative peace. Registration required.

Sweets for Your Sweetie
Date: February 14       Time: 7-9 p.m.        Fee: $8/person or $15/couple        Ages 16+
Celebrate Valentine's Day with treats from the tropics including chocolate and coffee, all while enjoying the candlelit romantic atmosphere of the Conservatory. Reserve your spot by February 13th with the code 224850.

Crunch and Munch
Date: Monday, February 23        Time: 10-11 a.m.        Fee: $4 per child        Ages: 2-5
Bring the little ones to meet some of the Conservatory’s critters and learn what they like to eat. Have fun with a craft and more! Registration required.

Early Morning Photography
Date: Saturday, February 28        Time: 8-10 a.m.       Fee: $5 per person        Ages: Adult
