GIRL SCOUTS NATURE PROGRAMS

Our environmental education team has partnered with the Girl Scouts of America to provide rainforest, ecology and conservation programs for your Girl Scouts.

JUNGLE TALES
2nd Tuesday of each month     Ages: 2-5 (with adult)     Time: 10-11am      Fee: $4 per session

This popular preschool program focuses on the rain forest and our local environment. Join us each month for a different nature-related story, activity, and craft. This program fills up fast and pre-registration is required.

GUIDED CONSERVATORY TOURS

Join Master Gardeners as they conduct tours highlighting information about the interesting and unusual plants in the Conservatory.   Tours begin at 2:30pm every Saturday in June, July, and August, and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month from September through May.

Spring Orchid Show
Date: Saturday, April 18 and Sunday April 19      Time: 10:00-5:00 p.m.      Fee: $3 per person, $8 per family
This weekend, the Garfield Conservatory will be filled with many of displays of blooming orchids from across the Midwest, all competing for awards. Come check out this annual event presented by the Central Indiana Orchid Society. Vendors will also be available with orchids for sale. NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED.

Date: Wednesday, April 22       Time: 10-11 a.m.        Fee: $4      Ages: 2-5
Letís have fun with water! Join us for a story, craft and fun activity as we learn about nature. Registration required.

Herb Society Program: Starting Your Herb Garden
Date: Saturday, May 2       Time: 10-11 a.m.        Fee: $5      Ages: 3 and up
In this program we will look at how to grow the 10 most popular herbs from seed. You will be able to start a few herbs from seed to take home. Registration required, but payment will be made to the Central Indiana Herb Society on the day of the program.

Bring your preschooler to this program with a focus on the natural world. Join us for a different nature-related story, activity and craft each month. Registration required.

Family Garden Day: the Butterfly Planter
Date: Sunday, May 17       Time: 2-3 p.m.        Fee: $8      Ages: All
Everyone is welcome to come to this workshop and create a beautiful planter that butterflies will love. Learn what plants butterflies and caterpillars love and help attract them to your yard. All materials will be provided. Registration is required by May 10th.

Date: Wednesday, May 20       Time: 10-11 a.m.        Fee: $4      Ages: 2-5
Preschoolers can discover what is blooming in the spring and have some flowery fun. Join us for a story, flower craft and fun flower activity as we learn about nature. Registration required.
